My journals aren't usually that informative about me or my life. Here's the lowdown on me as of late:

-------------------------
. currently in my final year of high school

. I'm planning on studying linguistics and German next year at Uni

. 2008 was a fucking good year for me on all fronts

. I'm going to Europe in June and will be in the following cities: Brussels, Bruges, Luxembourg City, Trier, Worms, Rothenburg, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Triberg, Konstanz, und Lucern. If you live in/near/have knowledge of any of these cities, I'd love advice on what to do and see other than typisch touristy things. Merci/Danke!

PS: you can ask me questions about myself (if you care) since this was pretty short...

Trier is beautiful...I've been there many times, since my best friend is from there. The "must see" stuff there is the touristy stuff, like the Porta Nigra, the Basilica and the Dom...but that doesn't lessen the experience. The entire city is just wonderful, and standing in front of a 2000 year old building is just...awesome.

Aside from Stuttgart, I've never been to any of the other cities. I lived in Stuttgart for 3 years, and honestly, if you had a choice, I'd strongly advise swapping Stuttgart for Munich. Not much to see in Stuttgart except the old and new castles in the center (most of historic Stuttgart didn't survive the war, and wasn't reconstructed afterwards). Munich, on the other hand, is simply cromulent on all levels.

So, not passing through Frankfurt along the line? There'd be a beer in it for you. :aww:

Have an amazing time in Europe, Joe. I'm heading to Australia in June myself, to visit with some friends and with the possibility of a wedding. (: I've only been to England, but I imagine all of Europe is truly going to be beautiful, so make sure to bring your camera along, my dear friend. <3

I saw you submitted the promised gifts of the end of the year (or more accuretely of the new year)... Thanks a lot for sharing this : your work is beautiful ! Keep up.
And you are so lucky to go to Europe, you'll definitely have a good time but it's really a pity you don't come to Paris (such a beautiful city) ! It's only at about an hour from Brussels in train... Anyway I promise you will see amazing things in Europe...
Happy New Year, I wish it to be as awesome as 2008...

awww,it's great that you spend some time on the internet again. Of course I do care about your life. What did you get for christmas and how did you spend new years eve? And why this obsession on Germany? :D so you want to learn German.. should there be any grammatical questions just ask me!
I guess you've got relatives in those cities, right? last year we drove through most of the cities you mentioned and I looked out my window, watched the scenery go by and the architecture was quite interesting but there are definitely more interesting places in the country. If you do come to Germany and if you have a free day, I'll show you the music scene in any city.I'm sure that would be fun because we seem to have the same taste in music/art.
btw I lovelovelove your new stuff.
Have a nice day.

Been to Southern France in the summer, it was really beautiful. Germany sounds absolutely amazing, specially a whole tour like that. :D

Hope your last year is a great one with awesome things to remember it by!

Shoutboard

Und frische Nahrung, neues Blut
Saug ich aus freier Welt:
Wie ist Natur so hold und gut,
Die mich am Busen hält!

Die Welle wieget unsern Kahn
Im Rudertakt hinauf,
Und Berge, wolkig himmelan,
Begegnen unserm Lauf.

Aug, mein Aug, was sinkst du nieder?
Goldne Träume, kommt ihr wieder?
Weg, du Traum! so gold du bist:
Hier auch Lieb und Leben ist.

Auf der Welle blinken
Tausend schwebende Sterne,
Weiche Nebel trinken
Rings die türmende Ferne;

Morgenwind umflügelt
Die beschattete Bucht,
Und im See bespiegelt
Sich die reifende Frucht.
